Fun and festivals have often centered around the river. An annual "River Days" festival is a yearly summertime cultural highlight in the Town of Peace River. This mural on a downtown wall shows a rendering of the SS D.A.Thomas, the town's most famous of the steamers and york boats that once plyed the waters of the Peace River hauling passengers and freight.
