Shaftsbury Ferry

The Shaftsbury Ferry was originally commissioned by the Alberta Government in 1977, replacing an earlier private ferry developed and run by E.T. Blakely and Sons. It crosses the river on demand as vehicles show up at either landing. An interesting note is the ferry regulations which are posted at either landing, which still give the regulations regarding crossing the ferry with horses. They take priority over motor vehicles!
