Nestled
in a bow of the Notikewin River the Town of Manning sits at Mile 52 of the
Mackenzie Highway. Named after former Alberta Premier, Ernest Charles Manning,
the town sprang up after the Second World War between the small hamlets of
North Star to the south and Notikewin in the north.
