Nestled in a bow of the Notikewin River the Town of Manning sits at Mile 52 of the Mackenzie Highway. Named after former Alberta Premier, Ernest Charles Manning, the town sprang up after the Second World War between the small hamlets of North Star to the south and Notikewin in the north.
