It′s a Treasure Hunt!
Cache in on the latest hobby craze - Geocaching* - with a fun new shop-local retail promotion. With as few as 10 participating merchants, your town can "cache in" and create an exciting new promotional event.
Participating shoppers go to www.cachearoundtown.com to get their validation sheet and the GPS locations of participating businesses. There are then three ways to play:
No. 1: Take your validation sheet and your hand-held GPS unit and find the participating businesses. Visit them all and have your validation page stamped by each merchant. Enter your completed validation page to win in a series of draws.
No. 2: Don′t have a GPS? You can still play! Each merchant will have a promo page on www.cachearoundtown.com where you can find the Cache Around Town logo and that merchant′s GPS location. You can find all the participating merchants just by "caching" around the web pages. Print each page out (there′s a special offer on each page!) or make a list, and visit each merchant with your validation sheet to qualify for the draws, or …
No. 3: Find the first merchant on www.cachearoundtown.com, go to that store with your validation sheet and receive a coupon for the next store on the cache around route. Follow the coupons to find all the participating merchants and get your validation page certified for the draws.
Participating businesses get:
- A hosted web page on www.cachearoundtown.com with a special on-line offer from your store. This can include a link to your company′s existing web page or web site.
- The design of your own special Cache Around Town web page.

**What is GPS? GPS stand for Global Positioning System. This system consists of 24 operational satellites in six orbital planes (four satellites in each plane). The satellites operate in circular 20,200 km (10,900 nm) orbits at an inclination angle of 55 degrees and with a 12-hour period. The position is therefore the same at the same sidereal time each day, i.e. the satellites appear 4 minutes earlier each day. Hand held GPS units consist of antennas and receiver-processors that receive and decode signals from the GPS satellites to provide positioning, velocity, and precise timing to the user.
